192 Oxyride Battery Car - Japan

Osaka Industrial University Project III

The students of Osaka University joined by Panasonic, made the run for the New Record Guinness Book.
This new car that runs with 192 Oxyride batteries with a very light weight body made of a special hard plastic. The students had to make it from scratch from the wheels to the body making it a full and over time job. At firsts test the car was able to run at a top speed of 122 Km/h and going to the New Record of 105.95 km/h, entering the Guinness Book. The next step is to take the car to Australia to a full run around the country.

Full Electric Car - Japan

Osaka Industrial University Students Project II

The Full Electric Car, the project consists in a car with a bunch of Lithium 4 Battery as the only energy font. The car can run about 250 Km distance in a speed of 130 Km/h.
The main idea is to make the car very use to recharge the battery the same way you recharge your cell phone, just plug in to the wall socket. It is not the first time we see this type of car, most ended in fail because the number and the weight of the batteries. This time they are using a lithium 4 type battery, reducing the space and the weight of the car.

Water Car - Japan

Osaka Industrial University Students Project

With all the world searching for an alternative energy Japan is running on the top to the next level, trying to make the Future Dream Car, moved by water only.

On this prototype moved by Hydrogen and electric motor, using the inverse process of electrolyze (process that separates molecules of hydrogen and oxygen from water). This new car concept is based on joining the hydrogen and the oxygen existent in the air creating a chemical reaction that produces electric energy to the car motor.

The result of this chemical process is the water vapour and only water comes out of the exhaust resulting in a very clean energy. The next step of the project is to make the car good for normal road tests.

For sure we all have dreamed once with this car, not mind the gasoline prices anymore...That's so cool!

Visit Kyoto, Japan

Kyoto is the number one destiny for the tourists in Japan. The old temples and the old culture that remains almost untouched bring the tourists a travel in time, where you can see geisha's and maikos walking around the streets with their beautiful fashion. Gion is the most famous point of the geisha's. Once in Kyoto, you must respect their culture and don't go just taking pictures like you are visiting a ZOO, the Kyoto geisha's are very kind for the tourists so before take a picture is better to ask first and not just go and burn the flash on their faces. Some tourists come to Kyoto and just go touching geisha's kimono, they don't even know that some kimono costs more than $ 100K and they are very old clothing some with more than 100 years old.

Not all the geisha's are not prostitutes, there is a big confusion on the therm geisha, some western people use to think they are all prostitutes, it's not true. As the japanese word says 芸者, where 芸=gei means art and 者=sha that means person, so an artist performer, playing songs and sing to entertain their costumers. The confusion happens because they use to wear kimono. The "oiran" is the therm to define prostitute and the only way to differ a geisha from an oiran is the way they tie their "obi" in the front, geisha tie their obi in the back. The geisha's are forbidden to prostitute.

If you want to have a good time in Kyoto the best season is the Autumn where you can see the trees leafs changing the color preparing to the cold winter. The leafs start to changing color in the end of October to November, there is a little delay from year to year, conform climate condition, temperature, etc. So check the schedule first to not get disappointed.

If you want to visit some temples of Kyoto, check the map first some Temples you need to take a bus because the distance.

Directions:
From Tokyo it takes 2hr30min by shinkansen = bullet train.
From Osaka by the tokaido train line, (normal train) about 30 min to the Kyoto station.

Learning English with Marty Friedman, probably most of you know the trash metal band named Megadeth formed by great artists. For a while ago you can watch Marty Friedman the lead guitarist on Japanese TV Shows, like Rock Fujiyama and Jukebox English. Marty now resides in Japan and speak plenty Japanese. Check out the videos really funny. On the first video you can see his performance on the English Course for Japanese people, "Jukebox English", on the second video a very famous *enka singer Aki Yashiro sings along with Marty's guitar, on the 3rd video a little guitar battle with Mr. Big band guitarist Paul Gilbert that lived for two years in Japan he speaks a good japanese too.
* enka is and old japanese song style, that sings about romance and hard things of life, near to the Portuguese FADO style.

The Futre of your Computer Media

The Future of your Computer Media

If you are born in 1990s you probably didn't get a chance to use a floppy disk. I' m not talking about the small ones 3" but the old big ones 5.25 those types of media was the most easy way to carry data from one computer to another or from the office to your house. In the 1970s and 1980s, the fastest way to transport lots of data between information devices was a magnetic tape or floppy disk--a method that computer scientists jokingly referred to as "Sneakernet."
At my house, Sneakernet still rules, at least when it comes to multimedia networking. If I want to download a movie or TV show from an online service such as iTunes, for example, I attach my laptop to the 10-megabit-per-second cable modem in my office; if I then want to watch that same show in my living room, I have to lug the laptop downstairs.
But consumer-electronics makers have a different vision in mind, and they'll be marketing it to thousands. The vision: consumers could simply point a remote control at their entertainment center and access video, music, or photos stored on their PC using a home broadband network based on old-fashioned Ethernet or Wi-Fi connections or newer technologies, such as powerline networking and ultra-wideband (UWB) wireless.
The gadgets that allow this integration are called "media adapters." The category hasn't yet attracted much attention among the electronics-shopping crowds at Best Buy or Circuit City. But at CES, where part of the massive exhibit area will be devoted to home networking, a number of companies will show off new or recently released models that they hope will appeal to entertainment junkies who want to get the most bang for the thousands of bucks they've already spent on the newest sound systems, high-definition (HD) LCD or plasma displays, and home computers.
For example, Netgear, already a leading maker of wireless routers for home Wi-Fi networks, will be promoting its Digital Entertainer system, introduced four months ago. The $280 device looks like a set-top cable TV box steamrollered to about 1.5 centimeters in thickness. It resides next to your TV and stereo system, where it communicates with your PC using a conventional wired network--if you're lucky enough to have Ethernet cables built into your walls--or an 802.11g Wi-Fi wireless connection.
Using a remote control and a simple graphical interface displayed on your TV, you can call up digital movies, videos, photos, or nonencrypted music stored on any PC or hard drive attached to your home network. Your computer will compress the files and send them to the Digital Entertainer in streaming form as fast as your network can handle them. That means up to 100 megabits per second for a wired Ethernet connection and 54 megabits per second for an 802.11g connection. Both are enough to stream HD video, if that's what you've got stored.
Netgear's competitors offer similar boxes in the same price range; D-Link's Media Lounge DSM 320, for example, goes for $200. Buffalo Technology's LinkTheatre wireless HD media player lists at $490 but goes for $283 on Amazon. But for people who don't already have 802.11g routers for their computers or Ethernet connections in their living rooms, a few companies are offering media adapters based on newer technologies, notably UWB and powerline networking.
UWB chip sets from Hauppauge, NY-based semiconductor maker Tzero, for example, are finding their way into media devices from Audiovox, Siemens, ViewSonic, and other consumer-electronics companies. UWB devices send data over a large range of frequencies, rather than over specific channels, as Wi-Fi routers and most other wireless devices do. This protects signals against interference and allows time-based rather than frequency- or amplitude-based signal modulation, meaning UWB signals can carry up to 480 megabits of data per second over short distances (10 meters or less), according to Tzero. At CES, Tzero and Audiovox plan to introduce a UWB media adapter, to be marketed under Audiovox's Terk brand name, that can connect PCs, set-top boxes, HD DVD players and DVRs, and big-screen displays without the usual tangle of cables.
And there's one more way to link entertainment devices without adding new wires: plug straight into your home's electrical outlets. Electronics vendors have been talking up powerline networking in the home for ages, but interference problems and bandwidth limitations have kept the idea from catching on (see "Are Powerline Networks Finally Ready?" June 2001). Arkados is one of the companies that will argue at CES that the technology is now ready for consumers. It's working with GigaFast and other manufacturers to put its chips and software into small "bridge" devices that can connect a PC to any television in a home. The devices can transmit data at up to 100 megabits per second--more than enough for HD-quality video. (For $250, Netgear will sell you a powerline adapter for the Digital Entertainer.)
Apple may actually make the biggest home-networking splash at CES, even though Steve Jobs and crew will be 400 miles away at San Francisco's MacWorld convention, slated for January 8 through 12. The company is expected to preview--or at least talk about--a set-top device dubbed "iTV" that wirelessly streams iTunes music, videos, or movies from any computer in the home to a TV set. Given consumers' familiarity with Apple digital media products like the iPod, an Apple entry in the media-adapter market could severely limit the opportunities for competitors like Netgear or D-Link.
Despite all these newfangled networking technologies, Sneakernet may not be dead yet. Think of it this way: if you carry a 4.7-gigabyte DVD down a ten-meter-long hallway at one meter per second, you've effectively "transmitted" the data on that disc at more than 3,700 megabits per second--a speed home networks won't be reaching for a long time.

Nowadays the newest media to carry data is an SD Card with 40Gbytes from SCANDISK, so we can imagine what will be carrying Terabytes of data in our pocket in small card or inside our cell phones and mobile devices. Probably it will not take more than 10 years and all will make laugh about today's 300 Gbytes Hard disks the way they are and sizes, etc.

Looking for work?

OK, now that you just quit your old boring job or you just arrived in Japan, you probably will need to find a job, very soon. A good option is to look for the Hello Work in the city you live, but it takes some time since not only foreigners but unemployed Japaneses are on the line everyday for the competition too. You can see some homeless guys trying to find a job although most co. don't want to employ them. The japan age limit work is 45 years old if you don't have professional skills, very low compared to other countries, the big problem is that Japanese companies don't want to employ old people, they say that most can not work a full time job or work overtime when the co. need them. Part of this story is true, but most Japaneses are good workers, the real problem from the workers eyes is that more they work more taxes they have to pay to the govern. In the case of foreigners things are different since most don't stay more than two years, they don't have to pay theses types of taxes or unemployment insurance or health care insurance, etc to private insurance companies or retirement insurance taxes that are very expensive. Here in Japan the retirement taxes are the most expansive of the world, more high your salary more you have to pay...
Example: a Japanese that earn a $2000/month salary will note receive more than

$1500/month:

math:
Health Care Insurance: ____$80~ (variable conform salary+companies)
Unemployment insurance:__$ 5~ (variable conform salary + age)
Inhabitant tax:__________$90~ (all cities has different taxes)
Retirement insurance:_____$160~ (variable conform salary + age)
Income Tax:____________$10~30 (variable conform salary)
Public welfare annuity_____$100 ~ (variable conform salary)
Life insurance___________$140~ (variable conform family members, etc)
Total=$605/month

So now you have a $1400 salary, lets see what more your bills:

Water________$20
Gas__________$30
Electric Energy __$ 50
Rent_________$ 600

Food_________$ 700 ? you can't eat so well with this money I' m not putting on the math other things like cloths, furniture, electronics, or something that you may need to start a real life.

So that's why Japaneses don't want to make over-time at their work because more they earn more will go to govern taxes, or insurance companies. This type of worker in Japan is called poor-workers, it is a kind of slave system you can't quit working if you do so you can't pay the bills and will end up on the park bench. It's really a social issue.

Some companies start to take those type of insurance and taxes from the foreigners that live more than 2 years in Japan, it is kind a robbery since most will go back to their countries soon or later. So foreigners prefer not to work on those companies, they need money in the pocket right now and not in the future when they are more than 60 years old. (the retirement age in Japan is 65 for men and 60 for women) some die before 60 years old and left all the money to the govern or to their family members. Foreigners don't want to die in Japan...

So why foreigners come to Japan to work? Well most come from countries where the life costs are about 10 times lower than Japan. So if they earn $1000 a month it will be equal to $ 10.000/ month in their home countries. Another thing is that foreigners don't mind to have a low-quality-life for a while because they know that they can have a better life when they return to their home countries.

Back to the find a job in japan, foreigners have another option called "work by contractors" small offices that intermediate the job search in Japan, since some foreigners can't speak a good Japanese to find job for then selves... but they get a cut in the salary that is paid to the contractors. Most contractors take care of things like housing, documents for visa and other needs that will be very difficult to foreigners find without a good japanese language skills.

Here is one of my friends that is trying to help people find job in Japan, she is doing it as a volunteer. She searchs for jobs in weekly magazines, newspapers and contractors sites and publish it for the foreigners in her blog. So if you are looking for work in Japan take a look in her blog. Work in Japan.

The Beauty of Japanese Interiors

The Beauty of Japanese Interiors

Japanese interiors means quiet and peace full rooms where a person can relax the stress from the daily work, generally in neutral, natural colors. Those rooms emphasize more the architecture, and as a result, provide a sense of geometric order. In addition, natural colors minimize a feeling of clutter, which is also essential to eastern design and its concept of simplicity. When a statement is made in a Japanese interior, it is usually through a single strong exclamation of color or a predominant texture.
Eastern art colors are pure. Unlike western art, which mixes color and refines sketches, eastern art is original. This means the initial color and/or brush stroke is the final result. Western art is often complex, whereas eastern art is simple, strong, and graphic.
Black is often considered a "non-color" in our society, yet, it is very important in eastern interiors.
The use of black in oriental rooms lends definition and form. For example, black is a color in its own right, when used with white rice paper in a shoji screen.
TEXTURE & CONTRAST. Some Japanese textures and materials that immediately come to mind are cedar, rice paper, maple, bamboo, stone, and woven wicker. One might also think of textured silk, tatami floor mats, and the elaborate needlework of kimonos and obi’s.
Japanese culture seeks to balance opposites in all aspects of life (yin and yang), and interiors are no exception. Interior finishes can be highly opposing and contrasting, and yet achieve balance. Examples are, highly polished floors with heavily textured mats, a lacquered box displayed on top of a rough wooden table, or white pebbles on a polished black granite ledge around a tub.
DISPLAY Western homes typically use an object on the perimeter as a focal point, such as a fireplace, a painting, or an elaborate window treatment. Eastern interiors, on the other hand, focus on a central object, such as a hearth (irori), a garden, an altar, or an elaborate still life composition.

Japanese homes also commonly have display alcoves, called tokonoma. Objects placed in these alcoves generate two types of feelings, either
(1) a natural or organic feel, by displaying an odd number of objects together or (2) an ordered and disciplined environment by using an even quantity. For example, three calligraphy brushes in a cup would be organic, and four pebbles on a dish would be disciplined.Japanese displays are fluid. In other words, a Japanese alcove may display a scroll one-week, and a set of pots the next. Eastern cultures tend to store and rotate objects. (This is probably for two reasons; (1) limited space, and, (2) visual pollution, outside the home, as the population increases.) Japanese displays are a reflection of the season, celebration, or honored guest. This minimal approach focuses on the quality and craftsmanship.

Instead of rotating objects, westerners tend to "display it all." (I guess it's because they we’re afraid someone whose given us something may come over and we won’t have it out?) A westerner would also tend to add to a display to create a balance, whereas an easterner would create harmony by taking away. To easterners, less is more, order is harmony, and there is a place for everything and everything is in its place.
*The tea ceremony room is one of the most important areas in the Japanese home. It is a place for sharing, in silence, and contemplation. Typically, a tearoom has a pool surrounded by pebbles. I mention this because it signifies the importance of water, and its serenity, in eastern culture. A bit of this serenity can be achieved in our own homes through the use of rock garden and fountains.

*Furnishings tend to be minimal and multi-functional. For example a futon is used for sitting and sleeping, or serving trays double as place settings. To give ideas on how you might use Japanese furnishings or artifacts in your home, I would like to go onto the next topic, which is about antiques. (Reproductions of these objects can be found at reasonable prices, too.)

Here are some classic oriental objects, and interesting applications, one might use to add eastern influences to the home. Please consult the second book I have listed below for more ideas.

A hibachi: A hibachi, in the true sense, is not a small tabletop grill as the western world defines it. It is a finely crafted, portable fireplace, used in old homes and shops to provide heat, warm sake, and boil water for tea. It was once also the emotional center and gathering place for family friends. Original hibachis were ash receptacles in low wooden boxes. They were also made from ceramics, lacquer, rattan and metal. Large hibachis can be used as display boxes, or bases for end tables. Smaller hibachis, which were once hand warmers, are now champagne buckets or flower holders.

Kimonos: A kimono is to a Japanese artist, as a canvas is to a western painter. Wedding kimonos and fans are especially decorative and valuable. Kimonos can be displayed in a number of locations in the home by hanging them on clothing stands or decorative rods.

Obi: An obi is a wide sash worn with a kimono. Obi’s make excellent table runners, or can be hung in a group, behind a bed, to create a headboard.

Tenigui: These are rectangular cloths, which were once used as headbands, now function as placemats.

Keyaki:
This is an antique door that could be used for a desk or coffee table top.
Sake Kegs double as planters, end tables, and lamp bases, depending on their size.
Japanese clothing stands can be used as towel racks.
Japanese kites make whimsical shower curtains, and ceiling or wall decorations for a children’s rooms. Smaller kites can also be used to make pillows.

And for end this, the Japanese Tatami room,
where you can smell the sweet perfume that it
spray in to the air, giving to a person a total state of refresh and relax.

Amazing Japanese TV Show - 欽ちゃん&香取慎吾の新!仮装大賞

This show named (欽ちゃん&香取慎吾の新!仮装大賞)= New Kin chan and Katori Shingo Disguise grand prix. Where Kin chan is a very famous comedian, director, producer in Japan and Katori Shingo is a member of a group called SMAP.
On this very nice Japanese TV Show, you can see people of different ages putting out their talent and creativity. All the performances are made with no special FX which is a good thing letting anyone participate, even people that have no money. Mostly the participants are school students and some groups are made with a whole family members. I think it is one of the best shows I ever seen in my life.
Check this Matrix style performance made with no CG, but only by humans. Pretty incredible and creative. By the way $20k for the winner.

Subprime Loan 2, FOREX multiply 10 times your money

Well end of the week and the yen still no so strong, today's price was $1=114 yens. Looks like we have to wait for more one week or two to get a better price in the market. A funny thing in Japan is that banks lend money for their clients to help them to invest in the exchange market. Example if you have $1000 the banks give you a limit of 10 times of what you have, but it is just a knife that cut in both ways, like this time where the yen has oscillate in a big scale, the not so experts on the FOREX exchange market had lost a lot of money. The same way you can have a $10.000 in your account you can lose it 10 times faster. Really dangerous for the ones who think the money can only grow in their bank accounts. Is really funny see people in the TV saying they are investors, etc. people that don't even thought about how to invest their money in their whole life is being dragged by a FOREX BOOM. Money can look easy to multiply for those who has a big bank account but for those poor people living on the illusion on make money from the day to the night, probably will end up with a big hole in their accounts.

SiCKO 2007 - REVIEW from Japan

I wish "I could write it directly to Mr. Michael Moore", but it will sound kind propaganda, so I will wait to him find my blog, LOL. If you saw SiCKO and thought that the health insurance situation in USA is bad, you have to come to Japan once... Japan has the most advanced machines in their hospitals, MRI, PET, ETC, ECT???, but the Doctors don't know how to operate it... may be they will learn it someday, but imagine a bunch of nurses that will pick you 5 times just to apply a serum not mention that you have to wait for 5 hours to take a 30 min of serum... If you are in Japan you better never get sick, they will not let you die thou, because if you die they lost a potential client that your body don't look more than a bill for the hospital and a (white rat for the Doctors). So they keep you alive more you live more you buy medicine and pay treatments... Imagine going to 5 hospitals in the same city and get 5 different diagnoses, well that was happen in the hospitals, the number of Doctors are to low that doctors have to diagnose you in 10 mins and people in Japan have to wait 6 hours to take some medicine for a cold. The wait time is so long that you get another disease while you waiting for your turn. The wait room is flood of people more than 80 guys waiting for their time and only 5 doctors. No matter if you have made an appointment from a month ago, when you get to the hospital you have to wait at least 5 hours... That's the good part... prepare for the bad part...
What if you get in to a car accident late night let's say 9 pm, people very friendly will call the ambulance, it will take about 20 Min's to arrive, here in Japan the ambulance never run, they respect the transit laws to not get in to a accident, you will never see an ambulance doing a 50km/h on a road of 30km/h even if it is an emergency... So the ambulance take at least 20~50 minutes to arrive, now that the ambulance arrived you are safe... WRONG! First they will make some dumb questions like where do you heart, how did you get hurt and make the 21 questions that you probably can't answer because the you are not in conditions to answer, but if you are a foreigner that speak only english you get lucky, the ambulance guys can't speak english so you are safe from the 21 question torture... After that they will call the nearest hospital to check if there is a Doctor available on the hospital (specialist) to check you, now you are in trouble... in Japan most hospitals don't have specialists working late night so the hospital will reply to the ambulance and say "sorry, but we have not a neurologist working in the hospital late night please try another hospital", so the ambulance guys that can not do nothing for you because they have only first aid knowledge... will call another hospital and another and another until they find a place to deliver your body... Now you are in the hospital and you think you are save? haha gotcha, now you have to take care check for what they will do to you, the nurses are so incompetent that they can give you a medicine for cold to cure your internal hemorrhage, so better not collapse down or you may never wake up again... If you have a broke bone they will probably just put some flexible support in your foot give you an aspirin for the pain and ask you to come again in the next morning so the doctor can give you a better diagnose, may be? But you still have to wait for your turn, so the doctor will ask you what happened and you go trough all the 21 questions again, by the way most hospitals don't have english speaker doctors or nurses or translator, so make some gesture they will try to figure out what you want to say.

About the health insurance in Japan? Oh, what I have to say... they will charge you from $150 to $200 every month, but when you get in to the hospital you still have to pay for a X-ray $20, medicine $5, blood tests $15, more you get more you pay. But they will refund your money if you pay more than $400 a month, but you have to wait 2 months for the money return to your pocket, by the way if you spent only $390 you will receive nothing back... so do the math $150+$390=$540 that will never come back... But what if you never get sick for a whole year? You still have to pay the same amount by month $150x12 months, $600 by year that's a lot of money...

Now what if you get in to accident inside the co.? cut your hand on a machine or smash your little finger foot with some heavy material ? Well now you are in trouble, first the Japanese co. will try to hide the accident, here in Japan the law against dangerous co. is really heavy, if a co. gets a lot of accidents by year the bureau responsible by accidents in factory will close the co. so that's why they try to hide the accident. The co. will offer you some money conform the part of the body you lost before you get to the hospital the co. will ask you to say that you cut your finger when you are cooking in your house of smashed your foot finger with a hammer when you are trying to do some DIY in your house, etc. but never say that you got in a accident inside the co.
By the way fingers has different prices... the thumb is the most expensive... I thought that was the middle finger... After you get better from the accident the co. will give you a boring job to do so you will probably get bored and will quit the co. and life goes on, they only need good hands to work, not injured people...

Just to finalize, well I know how the people in America feel and yes like in the movie, I think what happened to us? we supposed to help each other and not to make the medicine a way to make money, a big business... it's really sad, what happens here and all over the world, I could write a book of 500 pages only talking about the japanese health system problems but I will stop here, and if Mr. Michael Moore wants to here some good stories just give me a call. Yeah for sure this world is SiCKO... By the way Nice Movie, think the best of 2007.
P.S. If I stop to write things here it means that someone have killed me for talking too much... but what I said is the whole truth.., i can prove it showing you my injured body...

Rush Hour 3 - Review

"cam on Lee, these Girls are Sushi Great" nice to start but sushi is not called sushi in china... well don't know how they call it in china, but raw fish is raw fish, and sushi is very famous plate all around the world now. The same way some Americans come to Japan and say, I want to see Jackie Chan where is he living? Well he is not Japanese, he comes to visit Japan a lot, but still not Japanese. Another funny thing about America is that, after kill bill lot of guys want to purchase a Japanese Sword and go slicing their enemies, but the true is that the Japanese Sword katana cant cut more than 2 people, the blade is so thin that it gets useless after cutting a piece of meat. The katana was not used to cut but to stick it on bodies. The story of samurai cutting more than 100 guys is not more than fiction. The battles of samurais never get to cross swords, they avoid cross swords because they blade get useless... other funny thing about swords is that the samurai didn't battle at all they cut anyone they didn't like and some times even from the back. OH, what does it relate to rush hour? Well, nothing... I didn't like it at all it has a lot of racist words... If you saw the movie you, you know what I' mean...French, Chinese, English...

Akihabara Japan

Travel Tokyo: Japan Travel Destinations and Trains

Observe Tokyo today and you will see what the (東京人)Tokyo-jin = Tokyo people in japanese, have that we don't have in our cities- bustling streets with thousands of people waiting to cross the roads, gigantic television screens on the sides of buildings, high school students roaming the streets of shibuya after school and fashion statements made everywhere you go! It never cease to amaze travellers in Tokyo at the amount of things all happening all the same time, and most are often left dazzled by everything they see.

So, what can you do in Tokyo? Many things..

Having a fun time in a foreign land without no knowledge, is not an easy thing how japanese transportation works. The most used way of public transport in Japan are the trains, the most quickest and cheapest in second comes the bus, the Taxi's still an little expensive option.

1) Trains the way they call it JR (Japan Rail ways the biggest transportation co. in Japan) and there are many trains stations all over japan. The whole system of train routes and stops is a massive spider web and it takes some understanding of the system to get from point A to point B in Tokyo. You better check where your is the station do you want to go. At the same time things can be a little confusing since Japanese there are more trains co. in Japan and some stop at the same station with different destinations.

2) The most easiest line for the tourist in Tokyo, is the Yamanote line that run in a continuous circle in the Tokyo area. Learn to get on to Yamanote train travel from your local train station and the rest is easy, you may feel confuse at first but you get used soon.

3) If you are going to travel long distances by train, it will be better to get an unlimited JR train ticket from major state train stations like Tokyo and Osaka train stations- costs savings overall.

4) The subways is another story, very complicated even for japaneses. Double check your destination, the places where you need to exchange trains, etc. The subway lines are sometimes distant from other lines you may feel lost after walking 5 to 10 minutes searching for other lines, so take care. All looks the same, if you get lost better look for some information both. They can show you a map for better orientation.

5) Bus: for local transportation, if you live distant from your place you can take the bus instead the taxi.

Things to do:

Using JR trains, you can just about get to anywhere you want in Japan. There's also a shinkansen (bullet-train) to get from state to state but it's rather expensive for a ride. Places like Ueno, Shibuya, Shinjuku, Akihabara, Ikebukuro, Ginza and Harajyuku are places you should look out for as they are the main tourists spots with heaps of Japanese culture and attractions.

Ueno 上野 (pronounced as "ooo-a-no") - famous park and zoo

Shibuya 渋谷 hotspot for young people, high school kids and accessories

Shinjuku 新宿 business center but lots of shopping and interesting things about

Akihabara 秋葉原 computer, electronics and gadgets town

Ikebukuro 池袋 accessories, trendy clothes and more shopping

Harajuku 原宿 fashion, large variety of shops and roppon-gi 六本木 (bars, dance clubs, lots of foreigners)

Ginza 銀座 trendy and expensive shopping area

There are so many things and places that you see in Tokyo; entertainment, traditional, cultural, food, shopping and tourist spots, and I will only spoil the fun of adventure to tell you about everything in Japan or Tokyo like guide books do. :-) You easily find help and tourist information along your way, if you get lost in the bubbly Tokyo. Now that you know how to get around Tokyo using trains, why not take up the challenge and explore Tokyo on your own?

Before you leave your house to the adventure don't forget to take your hotel or house address... even if you can speak japanese you can not ask people where is your address and even if you forget to take it with you the best place is to run to the police box and ask for help, it's the safest place to go. Some people can be good for you and show the directions but not all japaneses are good people... and a foreigner lost tourist is an easy pray... have fun time and enjoy your stay in Tokyo. See you.

Subprime lending

Text from wikipedia:

Subprime lending, also called B-Paper, near-prime, or second chance lending, is a general term that refers to the practice of making loans to borrowers who do not qualify for market interest rates because of their deficient credit history. Subprime lending is risky for both lenders and lendees due to the combination of high interest rates, poor credit history, and murky financial situations often associated with subprime applicants. A subprime loan offered at a rate higher than A-paper loans due to the increased risk.

Subprime lending encompasses a variety of credit instruments, including subprime mortgages, subprime car loans, and subprime credit cards, among others. The term "subprime" refers to the credit status of the borrower (being less than ideal), not the interest rate on the loan itself.

Subprime lending remains highly controversial. Opponents have alleged that the subprime lending companies engage in predatory lending practices such as deliberately loaning to borrowers who could never meet the terms of their loans, thus leading to default, seizure of collateral, and foreclosure. Proponents of the subprime lending maintain that the practice extends credit to people who would otherwise not have access to the credit market. [1]

The controversy surrounding subprime lending has expanded as the result of an ongoing lending and credit crisis both in the subprime industry and in the greater financial markets which began in the United States. This phenomenon has been described as a financial contagion which has led to a restriction on the availability of credit in world financial markets. Hundreds of thousands of borrowers have been forced to default and several major subprime lenders have filed for bankruptcy.

Subprime Loan

This week was an economic disturbed one and the America sub prime loan issue continue to affect the Japanese economy, second economists it will stop this week and probably things will go back to normal in the beginning of the next week. The rate for dollar to yen went to 113, very rare thing, in other countries it wold be a good thing... but in Japan a country that has the economy based in exportation, it is not, more the yen goes down less money enter to the country. Lets see whats going to happen to yen next week.

Ikimonogakari SAKURA

Dolphin appear on Japanese River 2

The Dolphin that appeared yesterday at the river near to Tokyo bay area was found dead today. The specialists from the Aquarium commented that the water conditions on the river are very different from the sea and probably the dolphin was sick making it get lost from the sea to the river. Poor dolphin, some others specialists said that the climate conditions and the high temperature still causing damages to the animals from the sea. Looks like we don't need to wait for more 20 years to see what will going to happen to the Icebergs or to the planet climate conditions. It's happening right now...
This year the temperature in Japan is very high, not only in the day time (36C) but also on the night time (30C)too. The high temperature is caused by the high level of CO2+pollution in the air that retain the hot air from the day activities, cars, industries, etc.
Japan can be the high tech advanced country but still far away from a pro-ecology country, we can see a lot of merchandise here but not real rules or action have been taken to reduce the CO2, they don't even accept the new bio-ethanol from countries like Brazil, the Japanese govern don't want to be "dependant" from a sub-world country like Brazil. We can see a lot of CM to reduce the CO2, but the true is that Japan is far far away from it.

Dolphin appear on Japanese River

This week a dolphin appeared on the Japanese River Arakawa near Tokyo are the experts of the Aquarium says the dolphin is the same type they use for the shows and this type of dolphin use to be in groups of more than 100, probably the one who has appeared in the Tokyo area get lost from the group and probably may be sick.
The last appearance of Tokyo area was around 70 years ago but it eneded in the fishermans stomachs. In 2002 an orca has appearead in Nagoya area really rare case. The japaneses say that the Japanese rivers are getting cleanner and it may be one of the reasons of dolphins in the area near to Tokyo. But it can be a kind of merchandising since they have a project to turn the bay area of Tokyo in to a dolphin show. The responsible for the project said that is not to show dolphins but to prove the Tokyo Bay Area waters are more cleaner than ever... Well still looks like some type of merchandising for the project or for try to hide the masacre of dolphins that occur every year in Japan too bad for the poor dolphins... If you have some sugestions or want to make a donation to stop the dolphins masacre use the pay pal button on the left side of my blog. Thanks in advance.

Head Spin Record is Japanese

The world record of head spin is hold now by this guy called Ono Aichi, he can spin 124 times in a minute or two, he gets so famous that the Japanese TV ask him for appear in various TV shows in Japan. In the video you can see how he can control his balance even when his speed is going down. Really amazing, he holds the record on guiness book too. As a previa you can see he doing the rubick cube move where the body antecipate the body head move making it looks like a rubick cube.

What is a non-Newtonian fluid?

Newtonian fluidnon-Newtonian fluidviscosity
You have to pull the trigger on a water pistol to get the water to squirt out. To make the water to come out faster, you have to pull the trigger harder. Fluids resist flow. This phenomenon is known as viscosity.
Newton devised a simple model for fluid flow that could be used to relate how hard you have to pull the trigger to how fast the liquid will squirt out of the pistol. Picture a flowing liquid as a series of layers of liquid sliding past each other. The resistance to flow arises because of the friction between these layers. If you want one layer to slide over another twice as fast as before, you'll have to overcome a resisting force that's twice as great, Newton said. The slower one layer slides over another, the less resistance there is, so that if there was no difference between the speeds the layers were moving, there would be no resistance. Fluids like water and gasoline behave according to Newton's model, and are called Newtonian fluids.
But ketchup, blood, yogurt, gravy, pie fillings, mud, and cornstarch paste DON'T follow the model. They're non-Newtonian fluids because doubling the speed that the layers slide past each other does not double the resisting force. It may less than double (like ketchup), or it may more than double (as in the case of quicksand and gravy). That's why stirring gravy thickens it, and why struggling in quicksand will make it even harder to escape.
For some fluids (like mud, or snow) you can push and get no flow at all- until you push hard enough, and the substance begins to flow like a normal liquid. This is what causes mudslides and avalanches.

Japaneses playing with non-newtonian fluid

Japaneses playing with Non-Newtonian fluid.

On the Japaneses TV show they tested the Non-Newtonian fluid, but looks like they mess the ratio of water combination, the first guy almost died trying it. Really crazy and irresponsible, by the way the non-Newtonian fluid comes first at you tube, the TV just copied it, looks like the TV producers are running out of new ideas for the TV or it proves that YOU TUBE is more funny and interesting than a normal TV full of ads. LOL

Cell Phone Aero Parts

Customizing your Cell Phone with Aero Parts

The same way you can customize your super car you can do it for your precious cellphone, no I'm not joking, it's a serious talk. If you love your cell phone like you love your car you probably have a customized cell phone full of accessories or even customizing it from inside is normal, wallpapers, ring tones, screen savers, etc.
Your personality reflected in your cell phone, you can know what type of person you are talking too just by checking their cell phone, the ringtone, (Beatles, hard rock, hip hop) you can check to from outside what type of strap they hang. If they like play soccer. probably some will hang soccer player like Ronaldinho or David Beckam. Girls in Japan use to hang small stuffed animals, like Hello Kitty, poo the bear, One peace characters, etc.

The most popular ways to embellish your new cell phone:
Ring tones
A new cell phone comes with a boring standard cell phone ring. Fortunately, you can change your cell phone's ring to a different ring, called a ring tone. Ring tones are available in many different types including standard midi music type rings, actual audio of songs, a sound or speech. You can even set your phone to use a different ring tone for different incoming callers. Mainstream music ring tones are available and very popular. You can get a ring tone for just about any current popular song and many older songs as well. You can download these to your phone online or using your phone.
Wallpaper
Most phones have wallpaper backgrounds that can be changed. There are wallpapers available depicting symbols, nature, wildlife, landscapes, cities, people, TV and music stars, movie stars, and you can even make your own very easily should your phone be equipped with a camera.
Screen savers
Some phones use a screen saver, which traditionally were used on computers to prevent screen burn in from images present on computer monitors for many hours or days at a time. Today, scree savers are available with animation, music, photos and slide shows.
Skins
There are also skins or stickers available for many cell phone models. These encase you phone in an image or color and can come in officially licensed versions for sports teams, TV series, cartoons, movies and more. Usually made of flexible vinyl, they can be taken off if needed.
Jewelry

Leaving Japan

Leaving Japan

After long or short time residing in Japan you probably have a lot of electronics, furniture, clothes, etc. that you don't want to take with you back to your home country. So what to do? You have some options and no matter what you paid for your new LCD TV, you probably will not get half of the price you paid for it. Lets say that you have a 42 inches LCD TV that you bought 3 months ago and paid $2000 for it. The first thing that comes to your mind is "it is 3 months old so they will give me at least half of the price on the recycle shop or flea market or a Internet auction site, etc. WRONG, in the case of a recycle shop they will say that your TV is good but in Japan new models of TV comes out in 4 to 6 months so they have to sell it for at least at half of the price... and they say that they have to pay the transport after sale it and will give you a thousand of reasons to take the price as low as possible... it's all fake... Since they know that you will leave the country they don't mind in what you feel as a customer, they only think in how much money they can make from your TV. So recycle shop will not be a good place to sell things, if you have sometime you can try an auction site to see how much you can get for your things, electronics, furniture, etc. In my opinion the best place is the rakute ichiba auction, personally don't like the yahoo auction and I saw a lot of problems caused from users that don't pay or don't send the product in auction.
Another option is you BEST FRIEND, if you know someone that need your laptop, TV, etc try to sell it to your friend, you probably can get something near half the price you've paid for it. Best friends are for it...

*ADVICE: Take your time and try auctions, friends, recycle shop, etc. First try small things that you don't need, pick the number of your TV and try to ask by phone how much the recycle shop can pay for it. Never Say I'm going back to my country, say something like I want to buy another model or the TV is too big for your room, etc. Do your research first, recycle shops has different prices. Don't let things for the last time if you do so you will lose money and will go back to your country with a bad impression about Japan.

*ADVICE 2: If you plan to stay a short time: buy used things in a recycle shop, or auction, etc. you can always find things good for use and if you have lucky you can find almost new things. Ask if they have some guaranty, test it by your self in the store check all the details, instruction manuals, accessories, like cable, remote control, etc. Most recycle shops sell things without accessories. So chose your best shop.

Japaneses are crazy for new things so they don't mind in being sliced by the recycle shop, most are out of money (broken) so they need so sell their things to eat or pay bills, etc.

Hope, you like this entry see you...

Japanese Dancers Looks "Gay"

I've seen a lot of Japanese dancing around all the world in competitions, TV, etc. But in all, they do only moves that they "masturbate" for a long time before show it to others, generally copied from Europeans or Americans dancers. Here on Japanese TV we can watch some guys doing dancing battles, totally "gay..." Why? well they can choose the song they want to dance weeks before the battle. Outside this stupid Island "Japan" we never chose the songs, dancers never know what songs will play and the DJ remix it in real time so you have to do moves and create moves on the dance floor in real time and it makes you invincible...

As anything in Japan, they just copy it and make arrangements so people can try it and be the one eye king in the country of blind people. Here is the video check it out and you will see what I'm trying to say. The last part were the "reggae dancers" LOL looks more like chickens bumping their ass saying fxxx me, the ass bump is all they can do. Not talking about some Japaneses that buy expensive cloths to look like real rap gangsters like 50 Cent Snoop Dog and others. In my opinion they look more like a bunch of clowns in expensive cloths...sweet rich kids, LOL.
